"THE PEDAGOGY OF PATIENT ASSESSMENT: PREPARING STUDENTS FOR CERTIFICATION SUCCESS"
Thursday, April 30 @ 1pm EST / 12pm CST
Patient assessment is more than a skill sheet, it is the foundation of clinical decision-making and a critical determinant of student success on the National Registry of EMTs exam. This session explores the pedagogy behind teaching patient assessment effectively, moving beyond rote memorization toward deeper cognitive integration. Participants will examine common gaps in instruction, strategies to connect classroom teaching with NREMT expectations, and methods to foster clinical reasoning through deliberate practice, simulation, and feedback. By the end of this session, educators will leave with actionable tools to enhance how they teach patient assessment, ultimately preparing students not only to pass certification but to excel as competent, confident providers.
